Neo Welcomes Two Core Developers, Forging Ahead in the Frontiers of Blockchain Technology
Dear Neo community,
We are proud to announce the graduation of two blockchain veterans to the Neo Core Developer team: Anna Shaleva, Software Engineer at Neo SPCC, and vang1ong7ang, Researcher at Lazynode. Both have been long-standing contributors to Neo and have demonstrated their proficiency in blockchain programming.
Core Developers are empowered to manage and evolve the Neo core codebase and are deeply involved in Neo’s technical and engineering decisions; therefore they are required to participate actively and regularly. The addition of Anna and vang1ong7ang, raises the number of Neo Core Developers to eight, alongside Fernando Díaz Toledano, Igor M. Coelho, Roman Khimov, Victor Nazario Coelho, Jimmy Liao and Neo Founder Erik Zhang.

Core Developer Responsibilities and Incentives
Core Developers are a highly skilled and dedicated team of subject matter experts responsible for advancing Neo’s core protocol. Anyone can contribute to the Neo codebase, however Core Developers have the permissions to review and merge pull requests. Developers who consistently provide high-quality contributions to the Neo project may become eligible for an invite to the core group.
Core Developers are responsible for Neo’s technical architecture and roadmap design, GitHub management, and public presentation in social channels, conferences, and media. Neo Foundation provides financial rewards to the Core Developers for their contributions to Neo through its Eco Support program.
For those who are interested in becoming a Neo Core Developer, please review the application and valuation process found here and write to grants@neo.org.
Neo and its Developer Relationship
Since its founding in 2014, Neo has prioritized developer relationships in numerous ways. On the technical front, Neo supports the world’s most widely used languages and tools, providing a comprehensive blockchain infrastructure for building full-stack decentralized applications. To attract more Web3 developers to the Neo ecosystem, Neo has initiated the EVM-compatible sidechain, Neo X, catering to developers familiar with Ethereum tooling for multi-chain scalability.
Over the years, Neo has organized various online and onsite events, notably three consecutive years of hackathons, intending to attract developers worldwide to the Neo ecosystem. Developers are encouraged to contribute to Neo’s codebase or initiate their own projects on the Neo blockchain.
Currently, Neo has eight sponsored developer communities, including COZ, Red4Sec, NeoSPCC, Axlabs, NGD, R3E, NeoResearch, and NeoNext, and all together over 100 developers actively contributing to Neo and exploring real-world applications of the Neo blockchain.
Erik Zhang, Neo Founder and the author of dBFT, commented on Neo’s developer communities: “Neo has always been a technology-driven project and has achieved several groundbreaking innovations, thanks to the consistent contributions of our developer communities. Moving forward, technological innovation and developer relationships will continue to be given supreme importance, laying a solid foundation for business expansion, and we welcome more developers, especially from the EVM realm, to join us.”
We warmly welcome the new additions to the Neo Core Developer team and we eagerly anticipate the arrival of more talented individuals to join us.
