Neo’s Consensus 2023 Recap: Resilience, Innovation, Collaboration, and Inspiration
From April 26–28, Neo exhibited as a 3-Block Sponsor at Consensus 2023 in Austin, Texas. This year, more than 15,000 attendees joined the CoinDesk annual event known as the world’s biggest and most influential gathering for the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3 communities. Once again, Neo’s presence at the event was big, hands-on, and inspiring.

Neo N3: Resilience and Innovation
Entering our ninth year, Neo continues to inspire the blockchain world. In a market and an industry filled with uncertainty, Neo’s platform stands as a proven industry heavyweight that embodies both resilience and innovation. A seamless migration from Neo Legacy to Neo N3 in 2021 ushered in a new era of decentralized storage and native oracle. Neo N3 has unlocked unprecedented functionality, enhanced the economic model, and made possible a highly modular, developer-friendly architecture for crafting dynamic dApp applications.
At Consensus 2023, Neo and leaders across the ecosystem collaborated to showcase an array of innovative projects–each powered by Neo N3. Together, we demonstrated the advantages of building on a proven and robust blockchain project that withstands the test of time and is purpose-built to make it easy for developers and businesses to make their visions a reality.
Our nearly 1700-square-foot booth this year represented one of the largest, most collaborative, and most inspiring experiences on the show floor.
Attendees lined up at the Neo booth to explore projects from the Neo ecosystem spanning gaming, DeFi, NFTs, decentralized file storage and more; connect with Neo blockchain experts to learn about the latest advances on Neo N3; and dive into the wildly popular OneBand activation that bridged the digital and physical worlds with the introduction of a Non Fungible Item (NFI) that every visitor could take home.
Ecosystem Project Showcase: Collaboration Embodied
Promoting the innovative projects built on the Neo blockchain is just as important to Neo as raising awareness of the Neo N3 platform. That’s why we anchored this year’s exhibit around enabling Consensus visitors to explore some of the many innovative projects built on Neo. The result embodied the spirit of cooperation that powers the Neo community.
Throughout the three-day event, leaders from ecosystem projects Greenfinch, Forthewin Network, Flamingo Finance, Meme2Earn, GhostMarket, Perlin Finance, and Digi; development communities COZ, AxLabs, Neo Research, and R3E Network; and Neo news community Neo News Today worked side by side with the Neo team to onboard new people into the ecosystem through the OneBand activation and showcase the power of Neo N3.
Neo also made its presence known in other ways throughout the event through media interviews, a roundtable discussion with Karat DAO, and more.
Neo’s founder, Da Hongfei, joined in as well, discussing technical topics and visions for the industry to foster collaboration and drive advancement in the blockchain space.
The entire Neo team deeply appreciates each of the many community members who joined us to promote the Neo ecosystem. Their consistent and inspired contributions continue to be integral to enabling innovation through the industry’s most feature-complete blockchain platform. Inspiration: Bridging the Physical and the Digital with the OneBand Activation
Of course, our Consensus 2023 recap wouldn’t be complete without a rundown of the show-stealer of the exhibit hall–the OneBand activation.
Neo has a tradition of bringing “magic” to Consensus. At Consensus 2022, we wowed the crowd with the Chest Activation, which allowed attendees to interact directly with the Neo blockchain. At Consensus 2023, we topped this experience with a new and hugely popular “phygital” experience that bridged the digital and physical worlds. In an activation made possible by a collaboration between Neo developer communities COZ and AxLabs, more than 750 booth visitors received their own physical OneBand rings.
OneBand recipients could activate their rings, claim a dynamic Texas horned lizard NFT custom-designed to commemorate Consensus 2023, and build out additional unique traits on their NFTs at each of eight project pods that they visited around the exhibit. In the process, the new OneBand owners engaged with leaders and innovators from Neo as well as with projects within the Neo ecosystem. After the event, OneBand owners could tap and scan their rings at Neo’s happy hour at a local brewery to redeem a digital credit for a pint of beer while they mingled with other Consensus attendees.
